Postpartum Doula Support

Welcoming a new baby (or multiples) is transformative, but can also feel overwhelming. At Embrace Doulas, we believe families deserve gentle, expert care not only through birth, but through the early days, weeks, and months that follow. Our postpartum doulas walk alongside you during this time of healing, adjustment, and discovery. Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, our role is to nurture the whole family as you settle into your new rhythm.

Postpartum Planning Session

You’ll connect with your postpartum doula for a planning session designed to gently prepare your family for the transition ahead. Together, you’ll talk through what life may look like: how you’d like to rest, who’s in your support circle, how baby care is or will be shared, and what areas may feel most overwhelming. This is your space to name your needs, your hopes, and even fears with someone who truly understands. Your doula will listen without judgment, help you create a plan centered on your well-being, and offer insights to help you feel more confident as you prepare for this new chapter.

Support That Meets You Where You Are

Postpartum needs can shift from moment to moment. Some days call for hands-on help—like baby care, daily household tasks or simply a chance to shower or rest. Others are about emotional support and simply having someone present who truly understands. Your doula offers compassionate care for both your physical recovery and emotional well-being, helping you feel more balanced, supported, and at ease during this transition.

Overnight Support

Nighttime with a newborn can feel overwhelming, but restful sleep is still possible. Overnight doula support offers you the chance to rest with a calm, experienced presence nearby—someone to soothe your baby, support your recovery, and help create a more peaceful rhythm. Whether we’re caring for your little one while you sleep, gently waking you when baby’s ready to eat, or simply offering company at 3 a.m. when the world feels quiet and heavy, our goal is always the same: to offer peaceful rest and restore balance so things feel more manageable. You deserve rest, and we’re here to help you find it.

Infant Feeding Support

There’s no one right way to feed a baby, and whatever your approach—breastfeeding, pumping, formula feeding, or a mix—your doula is here to support you and your family with calm, non-judgmental care. We can assist with positioning, feeding cues, routine changes, and partner involvement, making sure everyone feels included and confident. If further support is needed, we’re happy to connect you with trusted IBCLCs in the area. And yes, we’re also happy to help wash bottles and pump parts!

Care for the Whole Family

Postpartum is a shift for the whole household. Your doula is there to support everyone adjusting to life with a new baby. We’re here to help partners feel confident and involved, whether that means guiding them through baby care, encouraging rest, or simply being a sounding board. For families with older children, we can offer gentle ideas to ease the sibling transition. And when it comes to visitors, we’re happy to help you set boundaries that protect your space, your rest, and your emotional well-being. However your family is made, we’ll help create moments of connection and support for everyone under your roof.

Trusted Resources & Referrals

You don’t have to navigate postpartum alone—and you don’t have to Google everything at 3 a.m. When questions come up or specialized care is needed, we’re here to connect you with trusted local professionals. From lactation consultants and pelvic floor therapists to mental health providers, bodyworkers, and more, we only refer to providers we’d feel comfortable sending our own families to. Whatever you’re facing, we’ll help you find the right support at the right time.
