Prenatal Visit

Physical Support

Let’s be honest, labor can be hard work! Birth can be intense, but you don’t have to suffer through it.  Your doula is an encyclopedia of comfort techniques. From laboring positions to breathing to massage, it’s our goal to make you as comfortable as possible, no matter what kind of birth you have.

Emotional Support

A space will be held for you to feel all of the emotions that come with this life-changing experience. Embrace Doulas can easily attune to you and your partner. We are committed to doing our best to meet your emotional needs. Let us encourage you to lean into this process.

Informational Support

We are professionally trained to help you navigate your way through pregnancy, labor, birth and the early postpartum period. You’ll have access to evidence-based information, so you can make decisions that you feel are best for you and your baby. We strive to improve communication with your health care providers, because you are the most important part of the decision-making process.

Care for your Partner

Maybe your partner feels uneasy around birth. Maybe your partner wants to be very involved and has already read all the books. Maybe it’s somewhere in between. We are here to help your partner to be as involved as you both desire. It’s also important that your partner has time to maintain self-care, such as taking needed rest or eating, without leaving you alone. Your partner will receive our encouragement and support, because we recognize that this is a big deal for them, too!

Postpartum Care

Support does not end with the arrival of your baby. Your doula will stay with you for an hour after delivery. Some things may include, but are not limited to, snapping some family pictures, help facilitate skin-to-skin bonding, and assist with breast-feeding if this is your preference. Within two weeks of the birth of your baby, you will be offered an in-home visit. The postpartum transition can be as overwhelming as it is blissful. Embrace Doulas can help you navigate parenting, recovery, infant feeding and more!

For expecting parents looking for more one on one, professional support.
